Summer of Camps

We are expecting our youth at about 10:00 PM tonight. They just enjoyed a wonderful week of Youth Camp at Pensacola. I am thankful that Pastor Dennis has kept us informed with pictures, comment and summaries. Best of all, I am so happy for the decisions made for Christ by our youth.

Most young people are very pliable and willing to be clay in The Master's hand. This is what youth camp is all about...allowing them time away from their environment, norms and life as they have lived it to be in a secluded environment and when there - hear the voice of God. The Lord wants the heart of our youth. He said, "Remember now thy Creator in the days of thy youth, while the evil days come not, nor the years draw nigh, when thou shalt say, I have no pleasure in them" (Ecclesiastes 12:1).

I just returned from Camp Chautauqua in Miamisburg, OH. It was a great Youth Camp. Over 600 campers, very responsive to God's call. We estimate just over 30 professions of faith and 100 percent commitments for purity. Sola Deo gloria! Through the summer Mrs. Pope and I will be going to Youth Camps. Please pray that souls would be saved and lives changed. I am thankful that all of these years the Lord has still enabled me ministry with young people. Would you join me in praying for 1,000 souls to be saved this summer? Would you also join me in praying for young people to stay morally pure, wholesome and vessels meet for the Master's use (II Timothy 2:21).
