Father & Son Campout

April 4, 2014 to April 5, 2014

3:00pm – 3:00pm

We are looking forward to this year's Father & Son campout at the Ray's property. Here are some commonly asked questions and answers.

Q. I'm not a father and my dad isn't here. Can I still go?

A. Absolutely! Our Father & Son campout is really just a time when the men and boys of our church can get together for some great food and fellowship around a campfire.

Q. I don't have any camping equipment...what do I do?

A. No problem. Not only do we have extra equipment, but we'll help you set it up. Just let us know if you need something so we can be sure we have enough for everyone.

Q. Where do I sign up, and when do I have to let you know by?

A. Simply sign up at the Welcome Center located in the foyer outside the Main Auditiorium. We understand that some work schedules are more hectic than others, but if you could let us know by at least a week in advance, it will help us plan the meals. If you won't know until the last minute, simply let us know that and we'll put you down as a possibility. We would love for everyone to be able to make it and will do anything we can to help make that possible.

Q. What time do I show up?

A. We have been privileged to watch this activity really help develop relationships in our men and boy's groups at Christchurch. Because of that, we are giving more options this year. The main event begins with a meal on Friday night at about 6 PM with a bonfire and a devotion afterward. Saturday is a relaxed day that begins with breakfast on Saturday morning, a devotion, and then various activities throughout the day that you can make yourself available to. One of the newer options is Thursday night. We understand that in our fast-paced society it can be difficult sometimes to find valuable time to invest in and enjoy father & son realtionships, so we've opened up Thursday night as an option. Many dad's take Friday off so they can make it out to the property early. If that's you, feel free to come out on Thursday night, enjoy the outdoors Friday, and then the main events Friday night and Saturday. A shorter option would be what some men have done, coming for the fellowship on Friday night and then left before having to sleep outside. It's completely up to you.

Q. Where is it located?

A. We will have maps available to those who need one.

Q. What should I bring?

A. Here are a few examples of what you might enjoy, but remember you can simply show up with just yourself and still have a great time!

  • Tent
  • Sleeping bag (and pillow)
  • Flashlight
  • Lawn chair
  • Jacket
