Couples Ministries at Christchurch Baptist
Marriage is one of God’s greatest gifts, and at Christchurch Baptist Fellowship, we believe it’s worth celebrating, strengthening, and supporting. Our Couples Ministry exists to help husbands and wives grow closer to each other as they grow closer to Christ. Whether you’re newlyweds navigating your first year together or seasoned partners seeking fresh inspiration, you’ll find encouragement, practical tools, and a community of couples walking the same journey.
Led by Keith Troutman, the Cornerstone class seeks to build strong homes based on Christ-centered marriages. This class has adopted the phrase “Serving together while serving others.”
Outside the classroom the Cornerstone class stays busy with a variety of Christian fellowships; including monthly book clubs, crawfish boils, ice skating, and softball.
There’s a place just for you in the Cornerstone class.
Building strong Christian marriages is the focus of our couples ministry. Whether you are newly married or whether you have been married for years, Pastor Jared Matthews would love to have you in his class. Join us as we make new friends, strengthen our marriages, and learn to practically apply God’s truth to family life.
The Foundation Class
The Foundation Class is an adult group that focuses on the intersection of the Bible, faith, current events, and public policy. Part of the class ministry is to train and equip young people to make a positive impact on society. Class members also enjoy frequent social activities together. This class is led by Robert and Taunya Painter who are attorneys with extensive experience in politics and government.
The Builders Class
Led by Kruger Corn, the Builders Class gets its name from Psalm 127:1a, “Except the LORD build the house, they labour in vain that build it…” Focused on building strong relationships with the Lord, the Builders class is for singles and couples over 50 looking to draw closer to God. Each class focuses on the practical lessons that the Bible teaches that we can apply to daily life.

The Friendship Class
Growing friendships and growing in the Lord is what the Friendship Class is all about. For couples and singles over 60 this class focuses on practical Bible study and discussion. Still young at heart, those in the Friendship Class are regulars at Christchurch’s 50 Plus-ers monthly get togethers. Trips to local fairs and area attractions keep the Friendship Class busy building friendships.
